API Sync (Real-Time)
For supported exchanges, you can connect via read-only API keys instead of manual CSV uploads:
- Binance — Spot + Futures (read-only API key)
- Bybit — USDT Perpetual (read-only API key)
- OKX — Spot + Futures (read-only API key)
API sync imports new trades automatically, so you never need to upload manually again.
How Auto-Detection Works
When you upload a file, the system:
- Reads the header row to identify column names
- Matches against verified Binance, Bybit and TradingView imports stored as YAML schemas
- Selects the best match based on column overlap score
- Normalizes fields — maps broker-specific columns (like “Realized P/L” or “Net PnL”) to a standard format
- Handles duplicates — if you upload the same file twice, existing trades are skipped
- Calculates fees and funding — extracts or estimates transaction costs
The entire process typically takes 1-3 seconds for files under 10,000 rows.
What If My Broker Isn’t Listed?
If your broker exports trades as a CSV or XLSX file with standard trade fields (date, symbol, side, quantity, price, P&L), there’s a good chance it will be auto-detected or close enough to work.

The required fields are:
- Date/time of the trade
- Symbol or instrument name
- Side (buy/sell/long/short)
- Price (entry and/or exit)
- Quantity or lot size
Optional but helpful:
- Realized P&L
- Fees/commissions
- Duration or close time
If your format isn’t recognized, contact us with a sample file (redact any sensitive data). We typically add new broker formats within 48 hours.
Common Import Issues and Fixes
“No trades found in file”
- Make sure you’re exporting trade history, not order history. Orders may not have P&L data.
- Some brokers require you to select a date range before exporting.
- Check that the file has actual data rows (not just headers).
“Duplicate trades detected”
- This is normal if you’re re-uploading the same file. The system skips existing trades automatically.
- If you see unexpected duplicates, check if your broker’s export includes both the opening and closing of each position as separate rows.
“Unexpected format”
- Make sure the file is CSV or XLSX (not PDF, HTML preview, or screenshot).
- Some brokers add summary rows at the bottom — these are automatically ignored.
- Some exchanges export .xls that is really HTML — rename to .html and the system handles it.
Missing P&L Values
- Some brokers don’t include realized P&L in their exports. The system calculates it from entry/exit prices when possible.
- If P&L shows as $0 for all trades, the export might be missing exit prices or close dates.

Best Practices for Clean Imports
- Export the longest history available — more data means more accurate pattern detection
- Include all accounts — behavioral patterns often span across trading accounts
- Use the broadest date range — don’t filter to just winning periods
- Re-import periodically — or use API sync for automatic updates
- Check the dashboard immediately after import — verify trade count and date range match your expectations
